GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- Students in the medical assistant program at Grand Rapids Community College will be able to transfer more easily to Davenport University's health-related programs under an arrangement announced Friday.

Leaders from both schools say the articulation agreement also helps make sure there are plenty of skilled workers for West Michigan's medical field.

The agreement lets people who finish GRCC's medical assistant program and earn certification exam from the American Medical Technologists or the American Association of Medical Assistants go to Davenport to finish an associate degree in medical assisting or a bachelor degree in health-related programs.
