CROTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Three Newaygo County fire departments responded to a mobile home fire in the Manistee National Forest Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to a home on East 96th Street between Thornapple and Elm avenues in Croton township around 2:15 a.m. When they arrived, the closest fire hydrant was not working, so water had to be trucked in from Newaygo.
No one was home when the fire started, and no one was injured while putting it out. The home is a complete loss.
Croton Township firefighters received assistance from the Newaygo and Grant-Ashland Township fire departments.
