WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) -- The City of Wyoming has arranged for private ambulance provider American Medical Response to stage an ambulance at Wyoming Fire Station #3, 2300 Gezon Parkway SW.
Administrators say that station serves the panhandle section of the city, and most of the 911 calls there are for medical problems.
Mayor Jack Poll, Public Safety Director James Carmody, and AMR General Manager Dick Whipple all said in a statement they expect the move to improve response times.
The City of Wyoming also plans to reopen the fire apparatus bays at the Gezon station and assign a ladder truck and seven reserve firefighters in the coming months.
Currently, the station is being used for police and fire training, education programs, and community events.
