GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) -- A federal grant worth $3.8 million will help the Gerald R. Ford International Airport buy some new equipment and upgrade parts of the facility, according to the offices of US Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow.

The money, from the US Department of Transportation, is to help pay for an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle, rehabilitating runway lighting, and building a deicing containment facility.
