GRANDVILLE, Mich W(WZZM) - Tragedy struck the Grandville Community earlier this year, when High School Senior Ryan Fischer died from complications of an enlarged heart. Ryan carried a 4.1 grade point average, and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was a three sport athlete, and the captain of the school's hockey team. He was also a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Associations student advisory team.

The Ryan Fischer Legacy Scholarship Fund has been established to remember and honor his life. The scholarship has a funding goal of $100,000. They are hosting a golf outing and auction, on September 13th at Sunnybrook Country Club, at 624 Port Sheldon Rd SW in Grandville.

The morning flight tees off at 9:00 followed by the afternoon flight at 2:00. The dinner and auction starts at 7:30 p.m. Ronnie Fischer, Ryan's mother, and Kevin Kelly the treasurer of the scholarship fund stopped by the WZZM 13 studios to talk about Ryan and September gold outing.
