GRAND RAPIDS(WZZM) A celebration Wednesday night for the official opening of a new building on the campus of Grand Valley State University.

Hundreds of donors and faculty attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for GVSU's Seidman center.

The center is now the home of the university's business school.
The $40 million facility opened to students last Spring.

GVSU president Thomas Haas says the building will provide exciting opportunities for students and the community.

"This is a game changer, we are providing a very relevant curriculum at the graduate and undergraduate level, we can be innovative," said Haas. "It's a multipurpose facility that will reach out not to just Grand Rapids and West Michigan, but to the rest of the world as well."

The center is named for William Seidman, founding chair of GVSU's board of trustees and former FDIC chairman.
