MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - A woman who took part in a plot to hire a hit man to kill her husband will spend at least the next six years in prison.
Diane Hart was in the process of divorcing her husband last year. She told the judge today her sister Vickie Brill came up with the murder-for-hire scheme and she was dragged into participating.
Michigan State Police say the Ravenna sisters met with a trooper posing undercover as a hit man. The sisters offered $5,000 and jewelry as a down payment.
Hart made a short apology in court.
Hart's sister, Vickie Brill, is scheduled to be sentenced next week.
