GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Could West Michigan's 3rd Congressional District be the site of a civil political campaign?

Bob Goodrich, the Democratic challenger to Republican U.S. Rep. Justin Amash reached out to Amash for a meeting - and today they met.

According to Goodrich's campaign, they reached out to Amash the week before the August 5th primary to set up the meeting, which took place in Eastown. They say the meeting was brief, with the two exchanging ideas on how best to keep the race for the Congressional Seat civil and that Amash agreed to hold public forums.

Amash defeated businessman Brian Ellis in a hotly contested GOP primary. The general election is November 4.
