BELMONT, Mich. (WZZM) - Sandra Gal put on quite a show in front of a packed crowd Thursday at the inaugural Meijer LPGA Classic;

She shot a 6-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Rolex Rankings No. 3 Inbee Park (66) after the first round of play.

There were plenty of low scores to be found on what was a picturesque summer day in western Michigan.

A total of 39 players shot under par in Thursday's first round. Among them are Rolex Rankings No. 1 Stacy Lewis who sits five shots back after an opening 70 and 17-year-old rookie phenom Lydia Ko who fi red a 2-under 69 on Thursday.

Michelle Wie withdrew from the Meijer LPGA Classic after playing just nine holes in Thursday's first round due to a right hand injury.

The second round of the Meijer LPGA Classic presented by Kraft will tee-off tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m. Players will tee off holes #1 and #10. Live television coverage on the Golf Channel will air from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
